Waiting on the Lord

By September 3, 2011No Comments

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 KJV

We often wear ourselves out with busyness. We think we have to do so many things just to keep up with the rest of the world. This often leaves us without strength because we run without God. Unlike us, God’s power and strength is never limited, He does not grow faint, or weary. As a result, He is always able to help us in times of need. When we wait on Him, His strength becomes our strength. To wait involves prayer. We acknowledge our shortcomings and His sufficiency, and we ask for His help and strength. Waiting also means waiting; instead of running ahead of God or without Him at all, we pace ourselves with Him. When we wait in the presence of the Lord with prayer He renews our strength.

Lord, often I wear myself out running around trying to do too many things without You. Help me take the time to talk with you about everything, and to make sure You are with me wherever I go.
