For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. Psalm 84:10 KJV
Psalm 84 contains three beatitudes, which focus on our relationship with the Lord (4, 5, and 12). The person that dwells in the presence of, finds strength from, and trusts in the Lord will experience His blessing in his/her life. I especially like the statement in verse 10. To be in the courts (the presence) of the Lord just one day is better than a thousand days anywhere else. To be a doorkeeper in the house of God would be better than living in tents of ease with the ungodly. The lowest station in the house of God is better than the highest among the godless. These strong opposites confront our lifestyles as Christians today. Every one of us has a choice, and it is already demonstrated in the way we live.
Lord, how good You are to Your people, and how good any relationship with You is compared to any kind of life without You. Thank You for all that You are, and for the blessing of knowing You, trusting You, and receiving encouragement from You.
