Schaumburg, Ill.—Wisconsin State Representative, Ed Fuller, Pastor Dan Mead of Faribault, Minnesota, and Pastor Aaron Patton of Kansas City, Kansas, met in mid-November with BBC Director Michael Nolan to review proposals from five churches for Start-Up, Help-Up, or Build-Up assistance. These men prayed for each congregation, its pastor, its community and its needs. It is the board of administrators’ and the director’s desire to make the most godly decisions and to be sure funds are distributed with wisdom.

The following decisions came from their meeting:

  • Bridgewater Baptist Church, Montrose, Pennsylvania, a previous BBC-USA applicant, had requested an interest-free loan that was approved in a prior meeting three years ago. This church has just reached the point in their construction project when they could use the assistance in their continuing efforts of their building project. The BBC board confirmed their decision and the interest-free loan was awarded to Bridgewater Baptist Church.
  • Victory Baptist Church, Bronx, New York, was seriously affected by Hurricane Sandy. In particular, the building the church had been renting was made uninhabitable by the floodwaters. That sudden need and the increased expenses to relocate their congregation had not been anticipated in the church’s budget. The board of administrators approved a grant for emergency funds to help Victory Baptist Church with some of these unexpected expenses.
  • Restored Church (A Baptist Church), Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, a new church plant, requested three years of assistance under the BBC-USA Start-Up plan. The board approved grant support of $5,000 for Year 1 of this work and intends to review the progress of this new church annually to determine whether it also qualifies for BBC-USA assistance during Years 2 and 3.
  • Mountain Shadows Baptist Church, Pueblo West, Colorado, which began ten years ago as a Start-Up church plant supported by a grant from BBC-USA, is outgrowing its facility and needs funds to expand its building. This church requested funds for a Build-Up project and the board approved the request for a $5,000 grant and a $10,000 interest-free loan.
  • Rustic Hills Baptist Church, Colorado Springs, Colorado, has been in fellowship with the GARBC since 1964. Earlier this year (2012) the church experienced a fire and the church only experienced minimal damage. But, now the church finds itself in need of help to repair an ongoing septic problem, update their kitchen area, and replace aging auditorium seating. The board approved Rustic Hills Baptist Church for a Build-Up grant for $10,000 and an interest-free loan of $5,000.

BBC-USA administrators are anticipating a stack of new proposals and applications for their next meeting.  There are two possible church plant applications coming in April. We need your help. The church planting portion of the ministry (HELP UP) is the lowest funded area of the Baptist Builders Club ministry.  Would you consider joining today to help with one of these two upcoming church plants?

You can partner in meeting the prayer and material support needs those proposals will contain. If you would like be part of the BBC-USA, click here to become a member. You can also click here to donate right now!
