For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? Esther 4:14 KJV
These are great words of exhortation for men and woman of any generation! Esther found herself in a unique position to do something great for the salvation of her people. As is usually the case, with such opportunities, there were some personal risks involved. For her, seizing the moment and doing something for her people potentially meant the loss of position and even her life. Her uncle had it right though, if she failed to act on the opportunity God would have saved them through someone else or some other means, but what a privilege and blessing she would have lost out on! We all make many choices but God schedules our appointments. Don’t let a great God-given opportunity pass you by!
Lord, Esther knew how big her choice was but quite often You give us opportunities to make a big difference without our even knowing it. I may never know the significance of a decision or an action I make but help me always do what is right according to Your will and for Your glory. That way, rather than living my life for one moment, I’ll be living every moment for You.
