The Thoughts and the Ways of God

By December 11, 2012No Comments

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 KJV

The ways and thoughts of God are different from those of man. That should not be too surprising and yet it often is. We try to bring God down to our level so that He thinks and behaves like us. We want Him to accept our ways of living and our thoughts about living. However, our ways and thoughts are too shortsighted. We live and think from our limited vantage point. It is a vantage point affected by selfishness and sin. It is also affected by need, especially our need of salvation. God looks at life in general and our lives in particular from a wholly different vantage point. He is without sin, He sees the big picture, He knows the beginning from the end, and He has what we need, especially salvation.

Lord, I am glad Your ways are not my ways and Your thoughts are not my thoughts. I am earth bound and need Your perspective, direction, and help from heaven. Thank You for reaching down from heaven to do for me what nothing and no one could do for me on earth.
