The Great Commission of Our Lord

By December 10, 2011No Comments

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:19-20 KJV

As Christians, we are commanded, by the Lord Himself, to go. We are all going someplace every day. We go to work. We go to school. We go to play. We are a people on the go. All of human history illustrates that! But just going does not fulfill His commission. Instead, we go with the plan of Christ always in mind, knowing that there is to be purpose in our going. As we go into the world each day, we are to understand there are people that the Lord wants us to talk to, to reach out to, and to minister to. That is His plan for changing the world and He wants to do it through us! This seems like too much but the Lord has not sent us into the world alone; He has promised to always be with us.

Lord, what a great privilege to be chosen by You to make a difference in our world. You send us out in Your power, with Your plan and presence to reach and teach people. There can be no greater purpose to our going. Help us not neglect this privilege.
