Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. Psalm 116:15 KJV
The death of a loved one can be, and often is, the most difficult experience we face in life. Oftentimes it is expected, but quite often it is not, in either case we struggle because of the loss of our loved one’s availability. We cannot talk with them, visit them, or just be with them as before. However, the death of a saint, a person that knows the Lord, is precious in the sight of God. It is precious because of His promises. The death of a saint sets forth the difference the promises of God make in both the life and death of His loved ones. It is precious because it is a promotion. The person is removed from the difficulties of this world and promoted to glory. It is precious because of His presence. He embraces us.
Lord, I am encouraged by the different way You look at death. We see our loved ones departing but You see them coming home after a long journey to enjoy Your promises, exalted position, and presence. What a difference that makes!
