Planning to Reap

By May 20, 2011No Comments

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. Psalm 126:5-6 KJV

This is a psalm of deliverance from captivity and the resulting joy and praise for the goodness of God. Verses 5-6 set forth a simple plan for Israel’s renewal in their land and with God. This plan can be applied in a number of ways and is often used as an encouragement for evangelism. The plan involves going, bearing, weeping, sowing, reaping, and rejoicing. To enjoy a harvest that causes rejoicing, we must go forth and sow for it with both the right seed and attitude. Think how this could be applied to your walk with God, your church ministry, your personal evangelism, your job, your marriage, and the raising of your children. To enjoy any harvest we must plan for it and follow the plan.

Lord, we always reap the rewards of our actions (Galatians 6:7-10). Help me pursue Your plan in every area that I might rejoice in all the great things You accomplish in and through me.
