Our Choice of Friends

By June 3, 2011No Comments

He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. Proverbs 13:20 KJV

Our choice of friends is extremely important. Their influence is far greater than we realize. We often look for people just like us. But if we were not like them before, we tend to become like those we choose to associate with. This can be to our improvement or harm. If we want to improve in our use of wisdom, then we should seek out people of wisdom and spend time with them. This is easier done than many would imagine. There are often people around us that would be glad to spend time with us. If we want to waste time with nonsense and fleeting pleasures, such people are readily available. But remember friends of this type will do us more harm than good. Our choice of friends is extremely important.

Lord, I am grateful for the way You have directed my footsteps. You have brought me into fellowship with many good people and made my life better as a result. Continue to help me in my choice of friends, but also use me as a good friend to others.
