Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

By July 8, 2014No Comments

Read Psalm 136 – 142

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. Psalm 139: 14 KJV

We have tremendous value because we are fearfully and wonderfully made God. Growing up, I never quite believed that about myself, but as a young Christian I came across this psalm which states it is true regardless of how I feel or what I believe. Some say this is just the personal conviction of David, and it is that, but we cannot limit it to him because its scope includes all of us. It includes all of us because the same God that made David made each of us! God made you and me. He made us just the way we are with our unique personalities and abilities. Have you ever noticed how great works of art increase in value because of the one who made them? It doesn’t matter who we are, how well known we are, or what we are able to do, we have value, tremendous value, because of who made us! When we realize this, it helps us rejoice in who we are and give God praise for it.

Lord, You know everything about me because You made me as I am. Because You made me I am special, and I serve the purpose for which You made me. Help me to never forget the personal value I and others have because of the touch of Your hand.

A question to ponder: What are five unique things about the way God made me that I can give Him praise for today?
